FZDolfan A very enjoyable debut by this young singer-songwriter. Catchy, bluesy, and soulful, with a touch of reggae thrown in. Favorite track: Dreaming.

What does "Moving On" mean to me? As producer of this album, I have a few words to share - having seen all this album's tracks grow from the very earliest stages to the final versions you hear today.

"Moving On" forms the basis of my senior project. As a music technology and public relations major, my mission was to record an album of original music and also handle the promotion.

As someone who has difficulty leaving my comfort zone, "Moving On" has taught me a few lessons about letting go of the past and looking for the next stage of life. Look at this line from 'Something New' - "And I'm letting go of all the hurt of the past, 'cause these feelings of bitterness aren't the ones that were meant to last."

Powerful stuff, impactful message.

I've known Dan for nearly 10 years, and this album is a direct extension of one of the most important friendships and working relationships in my life. I hope this reaches you the way it reaches me.

It goes without saying that a very special thanks goes to Elizabeth Springer for the amazing cover design and for inviting us to play, filmmakers Corey Knollinger and DeVante Brown, and the 'live' band - Brandon Collins (percussion) and Ryan Smurthwaite (guitar), whom - though they don't appear on the album, are essential to the "Moving On" success story. Also to Professors Matthew Harder, Sarah Davis, Moon Kang and Brian Fencl for support along the way.

Track Name: Friends Like These
She comes to bed every night with me
but lately there's something in her eyes,
she thinks that I can't see
Well it's a fire burning, but it doesn't burn for me.
Now I'm afraid to ask her - baby, who is he?

But you know that I love her,
but I'm gonna have to let her go
'Cause I won't be second in line
to someone I don't know.

I'm gonna let her go.

She's my best friend's wife
and I know it's wrong
I just can't resist her body,
she throws it on me so strong.
And I know when he finds out,
there'll be such sorrow.
But she's good for my ego -
so I won't let her go.

And I know it's selfish,
that I just can't leave her alone
and I know he'll never forgive me,
for wrecking his home

But I still can't let her go.

But you know that I love her,
but I'm gonna have to let her go
'Cause I won't be second in line
to somebody I don't know.

I'm gonna let her go.

You vowed to never do this to me,
but now you sing a new song.
Two became one, one became three
and I got this feeling so strong.
And these feelings of love,
have been replaced by Something New
and not even Heaven above -
could make me want you.

And you say you still love me, baby -
well maybe that's so.
But the way you've been acting lately,
my darlin' - I just don't care to know.

It's time for you to go.

I know I said I love you,
that you were all I need.
But you love yourself more -
than I could ever supersede.
Selfishness outweighs self preservation,
your narcisism cannot please.
I'm done having you screw me over,
he can screw me under - it's all I need.

But I know that I love him - but I gotta let him go
I refuse to be second in line to his own ego.

I've already let him go.
Track Name: Something New
Don't ask me what I'm dreamin',
cause I won't let you know.
I'm not hiding anything, so baby let it go.
I don't want you thinking that I don't care,
but there are some things I feel I don't have to share.

And I know I'm like a toddler who's clinging to his toys,
when I'm hiding the dreams that make the most noise.

Don't ask me what I'm feeling cause I won't let you know.
We're chipping away the walls, but we've still got a ways to go.
I know sometimes I feel so far away,
but when it comes to emotion I don't have much to say.

And I'm no dog but I'm no good with new tricks-
and this problem we've got, well it's got no easy fix.

But here we are working through it,
and we just can't give up hope
lately we've been hanging out,
on the end of our rope.

So when you ask me what I'm thinking,
I'll try and tell the truth.
So I can share more than my company with you.
And I'm letting go of all the hurt of the past,
cause these feelings of bitterness
aren't the ones that were meant to last.

So take my hand and we'll start building Something New,
'cause the higher the build, the better the view.

And we'll keep on working through it,
and we just can't give up hope.
And I know we'll do no more hanging -
on the end of our rope.
